1. Safe...
The Harriet House is a place free of judgment and manipulation - a sanctuary where all are refreshed by God.
“Welcome those who are weak in faith, but do not argue with them about their personal opinions...Who are you to judge the servants of someone else? It is their own Master who will decide whether they succeed or fail. And they will succeed, because the Lord is able to make them succeed.” (Romans 14:1,4)
The Harriet House actively promotes a culture where we appreciate and leverage our differences, and we involve and reflect the community that we serve and function within. We will be accountable to marginalized communities for creating equitable and sustainable environments and thus, we align our values, practices and resources so that people of all races, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses have genuine opportunities to thrive. We are committed to creating an environment in which everyone feels valued and respected.
2. Serving...
by doing ministry in teams.
“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
Teams for events, teams all the way top down, committees starting next year.
3. Submitted...
to God and to one another.
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians 5:21)
4. Spiritually Awake...
and sensitive to the Holy Spirit of God.
“Be filled with the Spirit of God.” (Ephesians 5:18)
5. Sent...
by Jesus Christ to our world.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19)
